How did Astra change the scope or ambition of what you built?

Astra helped me push Chorsu’s plain English capture much further. The early version relied heavily on if/else rules. It worked for simple examples, but was buggy and brittle. With Astra, I improved how Chorsu interprets dates, times, projects, and dependencies, including its use of Apple’s on-device Foundation Models. The ambition became handling how people naturally write tasks, instead of expecting them to learn the app’s preferred wording. For example: “Send the report tomorrow at 9 after budget approval.” Chorsu connects the task to its project, reminder, and prerequisite, and asks when something is unclear
