chitchat | Bring spontaneous conversation back into your day

Hey Product Hunt! I’m one of the makers behind chitchat. I think it’s fair to say that it’s been a weird 6 months for most of us. Although technology has been able to move many aspects of our work to a virtual setting (meetings, collaboration, conferences etc), one thing that remains sorely lacking is a replacement for spontaneous interaction. Scheduling Zoom calls just aren’t the same as your day to day water cooler talks, those side conversations before a meeting starts, or those impromptu catch-ups with a friend you run into. We view this question as the next puzzle piece in making remote work better for everyone, “how could you bump into someone, virtually”? chitchat is our mobile application that helps you reconnect with friends & coworkers for those brief day to day interactions: 1. You create a group and invite your coworkers 2. When our app thinks you’re taking a break, it’ll ask if you are open to chatting. 3. If you choose to be “on break”, you may get automatically paired to a coworker in your group who is also taking a break. 4. You can hop on a call of your choice, hands-free audio or video. Our goal is to reduce the barriers to chatting with friends and teammates.
