Chinese Converter does Simplified ⇄ Traditional conversion locally, powered by the official OpenCC dictionaries (via js-opencc). Its hard-protect dictionary guarantees names, brands and special terms are never wrongly converted — the thing most converters get wrong. Nothing you paste ever leaves the browser.

Hey hunters! Most Simplified⇄Traditional converters mangle names, brand terms, or anything you wanted left alone. Chinese Converter is built on the official OpenCC dictionaries (via my js-opencc port) and adds a hard-protect dictionary so specific terms are never touched. It runs fully in your browser — nothing you paste is uploaded. Open source — feedback welcome!

honestly love that this runs entirely locally, the hard protect for names and brands is such a smart call since thats exactly where other converters mess up. one thing id love is a tiny preview window that shows both simplified and traditional side by side in real time as you type, would make checking translations way faster than pasting back and forth

Tried it with a few tricky names and brand terms, and it actually kept them intact which is honestly the main thing I care about. Love that everything runs locally too.

the local-only thing is really nice since i paste a lot of stuff i dont want sent anywhere, and the hard protect dictionary actually kept my company name intact which is usually the first thing other converters mangle. solid little tool.
