I created Chatterscan initially to filter my Twitter feed and cut down on all the Chatter. This let me see posts that only had links in them, not see re-tweets, etc. As I've been building it I've made it easier for me to navigate via hashtags and discover new content to curate. I use Twtitter saved searches as the basis for my brand monitoring to check for mentions on Twitter, YouTube, Google News, Reddit, etc. Chatterscan only requires read permissions and does not store any data on servers so your data and account is safe. It has saved me a lot of time keeping up to date. I'd be interested in finding out if it is useful for other people as well.
