Chatlet offers easy, free video calls and chat without downloads or accounts. Connect instantly in private rooms with friends or random users.

Love how clean the landing page is, the rooms feel simple to share. Does video actually work smoothly in browser without any plugin, or is there a catch with Safari?
@earalp60442 Thank you! Yes, the video works smoothly directly in the browser without any plugins. We use WebRTC, which is natively supported by all major modern browsers, including Safari on both iOS and macOS. There's no catch at all.. just grant camera and microphone permissions when prompted, and it works seamlessly!
The no-download approach is super convenient, but I'd love a way to save or bookmark interesting random chat partners. Maybe add an optional "connect again later" button that creates a sharable invite link for that specific room, so you don't lose the people you click with.
@safiyealpak We're so glad you like the frictionless approach! The great thing about Chatlet's architecture is that every room is essentially just a standard URL. If you want to connect with someone again later, you can simply bookmark the current room's link or copy it and share it with them. Whenever you both visit that exact same URL, you'll be placed right back into the same room together! That said, adding a dedicated "Save/Bookmark Room" button is a fantastic idea to make this even more obvious for users. Thanks for the feedback ^_^
Would love to see a built-in screen sharing option, even if just for the room creator. Would make it way more useful for quick help sessions with friends or showing something without fumbling through another app.
@sadk375060 Thank you for the great suggestion! You'll be happy to know that screen sharing is actually already built into Chatlet! Because everything is browser-based, you can share your screen or a specific browser tab directly from the room controls without needing to install or fumble through any other applications. Give it a try on your next quick help session ^_^
honestly this looks super handy for quick calls without all the setup hassle. one thing that would make it way better though, adding a screen sharing option for the video rooms would be huge, especially if you're trying to show someone something while chatting. feels like a natural next step
@brahimiperkej1 We completely agree that it's a natural next step, which is why screen sharing is actually already supported! You can easily share your screen right from the video room interface. It's perfect for exactly what you mentioned—showing someone something quickly without the hassle of downloading extra screen-casting software.
Loaded it up during lunch and was chatting with a stranger in under a minute, no signups at all. The video quality on my old laptop was surprisingly smooth too.
@ervanayir That is exactly the experience we designed Chatlet for! We wanted to completely eliminate the friction of sign-ups, accounts, and downloads so you can just jump straight into chatting. The underlying WebRTC technology does a fantastic job of dynamically optimizing performance, which is why it runs so smoothly even on older hardware. Thanks for taking it for a spin during your lunch break 😋
the no-downloads approach is genuinely smart, especially the way the room link just works without a single click of friction. clean execution on something that usually feels bloated.
@nazlcan134250 Thank you so much! "Pure, instant connection without the bloat" was our exact north star when building this. We wanted to strip away all the tedious setup steps and just let the link do all the heavy lifting. It's incredibly rewarding to hear that the clean execution and friction-free approach resonated with you ^_^
