Hi Product Hunt, I'm the maker of Charune.
The main idea: what a character remembers about you is a set of notes you can open, edit or delete, instead of something hidden.
A few things on the site today:
• Dozens of original characters across fantasy, sci fi, mystery, cozy, slow burn romance, game masters and practice partners (a Japanese conversation buddy, an interview coach, a debate sparring partner).
• Qinghe Lane, an old lane with six residents: a post office counter, a late night radio show, a secondhand bookshop, and a half street that only appears after 3am. There is a world book that lays it all out.
• Import from Character.AI, SillyTavern and Tavern V2/V3 cards, so your characters and chats can come along.
• Write your own character.
• The interface is available in ten languages, including English and Chinese.
Chatting runs on free monthly credits; a subscription adds more credits. It's for adults 18+.
