Hi Product Hunt, I'm Ahil. I build Champ on my own, from Singapore.
I have a doomscrolling problem. I can spend a long time on social media for no reason at all. I feel alone, I lose my motivation, and I stop taking care of myself. My fix was deleting the apps whenever I needed to focus. It helped for a while, but it never lasted. I tried a few apps for discipline. They didn't stick for me, and some cost more than I wanted to pay. So I built Champ. I wanted it to be affordable, so guarding your apps is free.
Champ has three parts: Guard, Grow and your guardian. Pick the apps you overuse. When you reach for one, Champ asks for a reset first:
Breathe for 30 seconds (the default)
Read or say an affirmation
Meditate, guided or in silence
Look at your vision board
Drink a glass of water
Smile back at your guardian
The next update adds push-ups your front camera counts, and Intention: name what the open is for, then breathe. More self-care habits are on the way. Finish a reset and a flower opens in your garden, and the app opens for 20 minutes (you can change that). Skip it and it costs 10 Coins. Nothing in the garden ever wilts.
Your guardian is there for you in the garden. It guides you, and it grows with you as you take care of yourself. Tap it to chat any time. In the next update you'll also be able to call your guardian and talk out loud.
Smile is the newest reset. A guardian smiles at you. Smile back and hold it for one breath, 10 to 30 seconds in all. The camera runs on your phone only. Nothing is uploaded, and you can set it to never keep a photo. Pick it on the Guard tab.
Rules block apps on a schedule, after a daily limit, or after a number of opens. Strict locks a rule so it can't be switched off while it's on.
What's free: guarding any apps you choose, every reset including Smile, Rules with Strict, and Focus rounds. Champ Pro adds most of the library (guided meditations, affirmation packs, book lessons, sounds) and the month and year views of Time Back. Pro starts with a free week. Apple's sheet shows the day it renews, and if you cancel at least a day before, you pay nothing.
One tip: when the Champ Pro screen comes up, you can close it and keep going. Your garden opens, and its Apps card is where you guard your first app. That's where Champ starts working.
I read every comment. Two asks: try one reset and tell me where it felt clumsy, and tell me what would keep you using it past week one.
