In February of 2026, I decided to write the first line of Chamfered's code because of my strong dissatisfaction with the currently available CAD tools on Mac OS -- none of them are designed like Chamfered is; purely and solely for Mac with pure user sovereignty as a high priority. I envisioned a 3D CAD App for Mac that looks and works like a native Mac app. In my opinion, that is what Mac users deserve; CAD that belongs right at home on Mac OS -- with no tolerance for cross-platform compromises that drag the quality of the software down in order to get a universal look and feel. Chamfered, from the very foundation up, is fully built on Swift, MSL (Metal Shading Language) and C++ for the mesh kernel. Thanks to that, it can utilize Apple's Silicon hardware to the fullest extent. Which results in a very high level of efficiency -- which is why Chamfered will easily run on even the cheapest MacBook model currently available: the MacBook Neo. As of right now, Chamfered is in its TestFlight phase which means anyone with an Apple account and a Silicon-powered Mac can give it a try for free! The point of that phase is to gather as much constructive feedback as possible so Chamfered can be the very best in its class.
