One dot. Three rings. One button. Hold to push outward. Release to snap back. Collect the glowing echoes. Don't touch the red voids. That's it, and it gets mean fast. Six themes and five trails to collect. Stardust is earned every run. No purchase needed to collect everything. Daily Singularity. One seeded challenge per day, same for every player worldwide. Three attempts, then you wait until tomorrow. Free on iOS. One optional Remove Ads IAP.
Hey Product Hunt! I'm Niv, solo developer.
Centric started as one question: can a single-button mechanic sustain a full arcade game?
Hold anywhere and your dot expands outward across three orbit rings. Release and it snaps back. That's the control scheme. Everything else (difficulty, rewards, music) grows from there.
A few things I'm proud of:
The audio is synthesized at runtime. Zero .mp3 or .wav files. Every chime, impact, and ambient tone is a sine/sawtooth wave generated via AVAudioEngine. The pitch scales with your score, so the game literally gets louder as you go.
The Abyssal theme unlocks after a 5-day play streak: screen crack, falling ash particles, violet rings. The death animation took two weeks to get right.
The difficulty formula: 2.0 - 1.4*(1-e^(-0.05*score)). It approaches a 0.6s spawn minimum asymptotically. Fair but relentless.
Voice Mode: make any noise to expand outward, go silent to snap back. Same mechanic, zero touch.
Centric is free. One optional Remove Ads IAP. The rewarded ad for a revive is opt-in, once per run.
Happy to go deep on any of it: the audio synthesis, the spawn math, the deterministic daily mode, or the collision detection (no physics engine, all manual distance checks).
