Ceiling keeps your remaining AI capacity and reset times visible right above the Windows taskbar, and alerts you the moment a limit comes back early or partially restores. Hover the strip for the full view, with per-model and per-project breakdowns and what that usage would cost at API rates if you weren't on a plan. Free and local-first, so nothing leaves your machine. Works with Claude, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, and Copilot.

Hey Product Hunt! I built Ceiling because I was tired of tabbing between dashboards just to check whether I could keep using Claude or Codex, and when the next reset lands.
Ceiling lives on the Windows taskbar and shows remaining capacity and reset times without being another giant dashboard. Hover the strip for the full view. It also tells you when a limit comes back early, is partially restored, or a banked reset shows up.
It's free and local-first. I don't run a server that sees your usage or credentials. It currently tracks Claude, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, and Copilot.
Ceiling is a Windows-focused fork built on Win-CodexBar and CodexBar. Big thanks to those projects and to Peter Steinberger for the original work.

One thing that would make this way more useful for me: let me set custom thresholds so the alert pops up when I'm at like 80% used, not just when it resets. Surprises hit hardest right before a limit actually kicks in, so a heads-up before the cut would be huge.

@nk_ll86488 This is included in the current release. Open Settings > Notifications and set Warning Threshold to 80. It fires once when a session or weekly limit crosses that percent. The default sits at 85 today.
Are you looking for more customization on the alerts or does this cover it?
Having a quick keyboard shortcut to toggle the strip visibility would be perfect for when I'm gaming or watching videos fullscreen and don't want that overlay stealing focus.

Hovering over the strip to see per-model breakdowns is genuinely useful, especially catching when a limit restores early. Wish more local-first tools handled the API cost comparison this cleanly.

Hung it above the taskbar and forgot it was there until a Claude window popped back early exactly when I needed it. The per-model cost preview is a nice touch, especially when juggling Codex and Cursor in the same afternoon.

I wanted to add that in addition to tracking your usage and letting you know before you're going to hit a limit, it shows a usage breakdown by model and even by project/repo. It shows you how many tokens were burned and the estimated API value per project you've worked on for Claude and Codex.
