Catalogues Game is a free browser ordering puzzle where you sort seven shuffled items by discovering the hidden rule. It is compact, no-signup, and built for quick play on mobile or desktop. Unlike recall-heavy trivia, the challenge is choosing the right ordering dimension: time, space, rank, alphabet, number, or word properties.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I’m the solo maker behind Catalogues Game.
I built it because I like short puzzles that make you think, but I wanted something different from another word grid or trivia quiz. Catalogues Game gives you seven shuffled items and asks one simple question: what order should they be in?
The twist is that the category is not enough. You have to infer the hidden ordering rule from the title, the item list, and an optional clue. The rule might be based on time, space, rank, alphabetical order, numbers, or a property of the words themselves.
What’s live today:
• Free browser play
• Original starter puzzles
• Seven items per round
• Five guesses
• Optional clues
• Simple up/down controls that work on mobile
This is still an early version. I’m especially working on clearer post-solve explanations, more puzzle variety, difficulty labels, and a better way to add new rounds without making the site feel bloated. https://cataloguesgame.com
I’d love honest feedback:
• Was the rule clear enough?
• Did any puzzle feel ambiguous?
• Would you prefer daily puzzles, topic packs, or a larger archive next?
Thanks for taking a look.
