Catadoc reads your documents on your phone. Point the camera at a receipt, invoice, passport or contract and a few seconds later you have the useful parts: who it's from, what it cost, when it runs out. Search the way you speak ("bills under 2000"). Fix a wrong value once and it sticks. Merge documents into one PDF under a portal's size cap. Everything happens on the device and there is no account. One payment, not a subscription.
Really helpful as a freelancer for scanning invoices and receipts
What needs improvement
If only I could directly export my invoices to accounting apps
vs Alternatives
CamScanner and few other apps. No privacy and security on these apps. As a freelancer, my documents, bills required a privacy-oriented solution.

Thanks Piyush! The accounting-app export is a fair ask, and it goes on the list. Today you can share any document, or a few merged into one PDF, straight to any app on the phone, which covers getting them to an accountant. A structured export for accounting tools would go further. Which app would you want it for first?
Everything works locally, no network connection needed.

Thanks Adnan! That line made my day, because local-only was the rule I refused to break while building this. The phone does all the reading, and the one network call in the whole app is the feedback form, if you ever choose to send it.
UI, usage and user experience is simple, effective and simply fantastic.

Thank you Dipesh! Simple was the hard part, glad it shows. I answered your bigger question about how this differs from Adobe Scan over on the launch comments.
Thanks for the review! And good question. Catadoc grades its own reading. If a scan comes out hard to read, you get a banner that says so, with a one-tap retake. The document still saves either way, nothing gets blocked.
The bigger promise is what it refuses to do: when it is not sure of a value, it leaves the field empty instead of guessing. A blank amount is annoying, a wrong one poisons your search forever. Photos you import get straightened and cleaned up automatically before reading, and any fact it missed you can add with a tap, picked straight off the scan lines. That fix sticks.
