Hey PH! 👋
So I kept running into the same problem — I'd find a great YouTube channel with hour-long interviews or a lecture series, and I just wanted to listen to it like a podcast. On a walk, in the car, wherever.
Tried the usual stuff. Browser extensions that break every update. Sketchy converter sites. Running yt-dlp in my terminal like an animal. Nothing really stuck.
So I built Castify. You drop in a YouTube or SoundCloud URL, and it spits out a podcast feed. Subscribe in whatever podcast app you already use. When new videos go up, new episodes just appear. That's it.
Some stuff I personally use it for:
- MIT lectures while I run
- Tech conference talks on my commute
- Long interviews I'd never actually sit and watch
- Earnings calls from investor YouTube channels
Would love to hear what you think — what would make this actually useful for you? What am I missing?
Happy to answer anything here!
