Bringing Carbon Gauge from concept to reality was frustrating and inspiring all at once. When we started brainstorming ideas for this project, our key focus was to bring about a resource that made environmental sustainability accessible to the everyday user. The process from the initial idea to launching a fully functional website involved a number of brainstorming sessions, iterations, and lots of learning en route. Part of the content team, my role was primarily focused on bringing the vision to words. I participated in developing messaging, from how we framed our mission to the tone of articles and blogs published on our website. Building the website's content requires deep understanding of both technical aspects of carbon tracking and emotional triggers that drive people to action. It was crucial to ensure every little piece of content was informative yet engaging, making users feel empowered to reduce their environmental impact through simple daily actions. I also worked on establishing one tone on the website, matching our brand's voice to the goals of our eco-conscious audience. During this project, I learned about the strong interrelation between creativity and practicality. The nature of creating something like Carbon Gauge requires the development of content with critical thinking in relation to user experience: clear, actionable, and appealing. I developed an understanding of the transition of ideas from abstract to concrete platforms that people actually use. Additionally, I learned the value of collaboration across teams: taking input from design, development, and product management to ensure messaging aligned with the overall user experience.

I think it's a very interesting initiative on which I encourage the young generation to focus on its development because our mother nature remains the only thing we can't play around with in the coming decades.

This is a really good project and we all need to be mindful of our carbon footprint but we're not sure how. This will help us in tracking where we emit the most and least amount of carbon and we can reduce it as much as possible. Very creative and impactful product.
