What's great

Millisecond-accurate timestamps out of the box. Most tools get you 80% there and leave you fixing sync drift manually. CaptionFit's auto-sync is tight enough that I rarely touch it after the first pass. The SRT export is clean and standard-compliant. Drops straight into Premiere, CapCut, or anything else without any reformatting headaches.

What needs improvement

A batch processing queue would be the biggest unlock. Right now, it's one file at a time, which slows down client workflows. Team commenting or annotation on captions would also help for back-and-forth with clients before final export.

vs Alternatives

Tested CapCut, VEED, Kapwing, and Captions.ai. CapCut is excellent for animated captions on short-form content but has zero solution for music. You're manually fixing every lyric. VEED's auto-subtitles frequently underperform on accuracy and the free tier caps you at 30 minutes a month before pushing you to $18/mo. Captions.ai is mobile-first and credit-based. Users report burning through allocations within 2–3 weeks, and it doesn't export clean SRTs. None of them solves the core problem for musicians: AI mishearing lyrics. CaptionFit's lyrics override is the only tool that lets you paste correct lyrics and resyncs automatically. That's the only reason I'm here.

What's great

The lyrics override feature is the killer differentiator. Every other AI captioning tool makes you manually nudge timestamps when it mangles song lyrics. CaptionFit lets you paste correct lyrics and resyncs automatically. For independent musicians releasing on YouTube and TikTok, that's hours saved per video.

What needs improvement

Bulk upload for creators managing back catalogues. A direct publish integration with YouTube would also remove a friction step. Currently you export SRT and upload manually.

vs Alternatives

All automatic captions apps are fine, but none handle music lyrics gracefully. Rev's human captioning is accurate but expensive and slow. CaptionFit hits the gap between "good enough" and "actually correct."
