Caplo records your Mac screen and keeps track of every click and cursor move. When you stop, the editor opens with zooms already placed where you clicked, and the view follows your cursor while zoomed in. Each zoom is a clip on the timeline, so you can move it, resize it or delete it. You can also restyle the cursor, add captions transcribed on your Mac, blur sensitive areas, and export MP4, ProRes or GIF up to 4K. Free for personal use, and nothing gets uploaded.

Editing a screen recording usually means scrubbing through the timeline and adding a zoom every time you clicked something. I wanted that part to happen on its own. Caplo notes where you click while you record and sets up the zooms for you. Clicks that land close together share one zoom, so the view doesn't keep bouncing in and out.

A few details:

• Native Mac app written in Swift, macOS 15+, Apple silicon and Intel

• No account and no uploads. The only network request is the update check, and you can turn it off

• Captions are transcribed on your Mac

• Interface in English and Chinese

• Free for personal and non-commercial use, source is on GitHub
