Every app I found had accounts, a subscription, and a streak I was going to feel bad about. The thing I actually wanted was about twenty lines of code, and it still wasn't worth an afternoon to build. That gap bugged me for a while. There's a whole class of tools that are too small to ship and too annoying to make, so nobody has them. The models got small enough to fix that. Cantrip runs a 4B model on the phone itself. You say what you want, it writes the thing, and it never touches a server. No account, no cloud, works on a plane. The part I care about most is how you open them. A grid of icons felt wrong for something you made yourself five minutes ago, so instead you draw a glyph and that becomes its mark. Draw it again anywhere on the home screen and the tool opens. My coffee tally is a spiral. It's a small thing but it makes the tools feel like objects instead of files. Seven come installed so you can see the range. Keep the ones you like, forget the rest.
