Cannon is a chat service that works over push notifications. It's radically private: there's no history to steal, no account to hack. Messages are encrypted. To start chatting, open app.cannon-chat.online and share your Device ID with the other person.

What do you do if you need to discuss something really private? You go to a secluded place and have a private conversation. Why? Because spoken words don't leave traces: there's no chat history to hack, no accounts to deanon. Physical speech offers unsurpassed privacy. I asked myself: what's the closest we can get to a physical conversation, but online? Is there a way to deliver a message from Alice to Bob so that the message would exist for Alice when she says it and for Bob when he reads it, and without Alice or Bob needing to identify themselves to a third party? I created Cannon as an answer to these questions. Cannon is a chat service that delivers messages with push notifications and doesn't have _any_ chat history. Not on the server, not on the client. Swipe the notification—and the message is gone forever. There's no such thing as Cannon account. You just go to app.cannon-chat.online and share a random unique Device ID with the other party. Cannon doesn't use a third party push notification service like OneSignal to dispatch push notifications. Instead, I'm using Web Push API which relies on push services provided by browser vendors. The push messages are encrypted so that the push service doesn't see their content.
