CanDoYa is a library of 300+ free tools for everyday work: convert files, compress images, merge PDFs, clean up text, validate JSON, decode cron expressions, pick colors, run calculations. Every tool runs entirely in your browser — nothing you paste or drop is uploaded, no account needed, results appear instantly, and most work offline. We add 10–20 new tools every day and are building toward 5,000. Free with no tiers or trials, plus a Chrome extension that opens any tool from the address bar.
Hi everyone, Aleks here.
CanDoYa started as a bet: most "free online tool" pages are slow, ad-choked and privacy-hostile, and the only reason they win is that nobody has built the honest version at scale. So I'm building it.
Today it's 300+ tools, and I ship 10–20 more every day, aiming for 5,000. Every tool is one fast static page with a tiny interactive island — Astro and Vue, WASM for the heavy stuff like PDF and video, on-device AI where it helps — and everything runs client-side. Nothing you paste or drop is uploaded. No account. Most tools work offline once loaded.
Good starting points: Image Compressor, Merge PDF, JSON Validator, Word Counter, QR Code Generator, Cron Expression Explainer. Or install the Chrome extension and open any tool from the address bar.
Business model, since someone will ask: the tools are free and stay free. A few link to my paid apps when a job needs more than a browser tab can do. That's the whole funnel, and it's optional.
What I want from you today: break something. Paste weird input, drop a huge file, try it on your phone. And tell me which tool you'd add - I'm literally building the list this week.
