A website and PWA designed to quickly check the toxicity of various foods, plants, household items, and more for cats. Provide concise insights into the benefits, risks and suggestions associated with these items.
Made this because I have an incredibly cute cat and she is so curious about what I am eating. Hope this is also helpful to you!
About the data source, the data about plants, common foods (such as strawberry, watermelon, lemon, ...), and household items comes from the ASPCA, which should be reliable. For other less common fruits and vegetables, the information is collected from articles on some major pet websites (such as cats.com and petmd.com) and summarized using ChatGPT. Most of this information should be correct, but there may be occasional errors. If you find any error, feel free to notify me, and I will correct it immediately😸.
@ahrisy Though I think it's fine to just ask gpt. But who can resist the temptation to vote for a cute kitten?

hey, i LOVE this idea as a fellow cat owner but how reliable is your data ? where does it get its information from ? any assurance that its all safe and no misinformation is being generated ? like if you are generating it from the internet, we know internet is like a massive place that has good information and bad. I really wanna use your product but just this concern , it'll be great if you clarify this, thank you!!!

I'm a cat person and love this. I've definitely had to Google a fair number of things to be sure they're safe. What's the data source behind all of this?

Congratulations 🥂 on the launch @ahrisy!! The site is a really good idea to figure out what one should give their cats. I have a few friends who are crazy about their cats and love treating them. This would definitely help them. I'm gonna recommend it to them. Cheers! 🎉 🎉
@mihir_srivastava Thanks for loving it! If you find any errors, feel free to notify me and I will correct immediately!

@ahrisy I did find a small nit while searching for food products. I searched for Dog Food and I got a search hit but there was no cat food :(
I don't own a cat myself so I am not sure if that is accurate or not but seemed like something that I can let you know.
@mihir_srivastava Thanks for your feedback! Well, theoretically, I think cats can always eat cat food😂, and there are already many comparison websites for cat food, so I didn't include it.

@ahrisy Hahaha yeah! That sounds reasonable. Kudos again! 🎉
Haha this website is so cute, my cat is always meowing at the table, smell it and walk away, I wonder how they judge what can and can't be eaten? Congratulations on the launch of Can Cats Eat It, definitely a must-have resource for cat lovers!
@zhuizhui Thank you for loving my web! I heard that cats judge foods through some kind of taste receptor on their tongue, but that doesn't seem to explain why my friend's cat loves strawberries lol. Anyway, if you find any errors, please notify me, and I will correct them immediately!

@ahrisy I tried this product. I asked, if my cat can eat "dal and boiled rice with cucumber", even though it says, its safe. The Query turned to be "Florida Butterfly Orchid?".
@divy_divya_c Thanks for trying the product! Currently the product cannot process natural language and can only search within the database😂. When you click on the search button or press Enter, it will redirect to the food whose name is most similar to your input. If you want to search things like "dal and boiled rice with cucumber", you can try searching "rice" and "cucumber" separately, or you can try talking to the chatbot: https://cancateat.org/chatbot
