Camera Eye is a powerful and lightweight background recorder designed for quick and convenient recording. Record high-quality videos, take photos, or capture audio even when your screen is turned off. Start, pause, and stop recordings easily with simple controls and the Camera Eye widget. Its clean interface, fast access, and reliable background performance make recording easier whenever you need it.

The privacy-first approach is genuinely refreshing to see, especially with everything staying local on the device. One thing that would make it even more useful for me: a quick widget or tile to start a background recording directly from the home screen without unlocking or opening the app. It would save those few seconds that matter when something unexpected happens and you want to capture it.

@bernahru8 Thanks for the great suggestion! I actually implemented this recently. You can already add the Camera Eye widget to your home screen and start a background recording with a single tap—no need to open the app first. I’m also working on making it even faster and more convenient in future updates.

@bernahru8 I'm releasing a new update. You can now start and stop video recording using the volume up and down buttons without opening the app at all and even while the phone screen is off.

The on-device storage approach is a really nice touch for privacy. One thing I'd love to see is a quick toggle widget for the home screen so I can start a background recording without even unlocking my phone, maybe a small floating button overlay that disappears after a few seconds.

@sebahatf2bz Thank you for the suggestion! That's an interesting idea, and I can definitely see how it could improve accessibility and convenience. I'll keep it in mind and consider adding something like this in a future update. 😊

Would love a quick toggle widget for the home screen to start background recording without even unlocking the phone. That alone would make this the go-to for capturing moments hands-free, especially when opening the app feels like too many steps.

@semihkrcayf3f Thanks for the suggestion! I’m planning to add support for starting background recording even while the screen is completely off, without opening or unlocking the phone.
