Hey guys! We're really excited to launch the Callie App officially. We've already brought hundreds of users on board –and the feedback has been really positive so far– but we'd love to hear what you, the ProductHunt community think! Please let us know how you feel about the design, features, and anything else you can think of. We'd also be happy to answer any questions about how it works, etc.!

Looks great! I worked in this market on the corporate side for 10 years, always wanted to dip into the consumer side but none of my employers liked the "fickleness" of a consumer (i.e. - cancelling their DD/subscription whenever they felt like it!) and also the money involved marketing to consumer. One feature I always wanted to see was an ETA function, something along the lines of.... 1) User inputs a destination address (e.g. - home, a friends house, etc) 2) App function figures out an ETA based on likely route and method of transport 3) Notifies trusted contact (or user can select contacts) that I'm on my way with the ETA 4) Back end has a configurable "grace period" - e.g. - 2 mins, 5 mins, 10 mins, etc 5) Selected contacts get notified when user has exceeded their ETA, perhaps prompts to call/text/whatsapp user. Also gets a last known GPS location from when ETA expired (might have stopped off at the shops or walked a different route, for example) 6) User gets a prompt at expiry of ETA, option to extend, cancel, start a new one, etc. Selected contacts get notified of any end user changes to the ETA. 7) Or if user has got the ADT ARC option, alarm gets raised there and ARC controllers follow designated escalation process. Have you also looked at geofencing? Enabling a family member to "fence off" no go or dangerous areas to create notifications if the user wanders in/out of places they shouldn't be in?

@david_ainger Thanks David! Wow, some great feedback that I'm absolutely going to pass on to the tea. Callie is actually a new sister brand of our lone worker safety company, Safepoint, so I'm sure we have some similar experiences! Honestly, we have had really positive experiences providing safety solutions to businesses, but we do get that marketing towards a consumer market is a whole different ball-game. I think the idea of ETA is great. At the moment, we have a very natural "action" based user flow (I.e, "I am [doing activity] and will be done at [time]", so I think this is a natural next step. The way you laid it out makes a lot of sense! We have also looked at geofencing as a future option. I think as well as the ideas you suggested; creating a simple "home" location would be good for people who inevitably forget to mark when they've arrived home safe.

@mattrum Ah Safepoint.....i think i recall tapping your marketing bod up via your live chat for some competitor intel while I was still in the industry. Always liked the look of your app! Genuinely wish you good luck with it....I think the separation out from your corporate brand for a consumer product is a good idea. I know there's somebody in the market tried dabbling with the consumer angle recently with their LW app but I'm not convinced it's the right approach and nor do I think it got the uptake they were expecting. Feel free to tap me up any time for any additional input or if you'd like somebody to test it to destruction I've got a good track record in de-bugging (breaking) things :) Another angle I tried to pursue was with the big consumer outdoor "activity" apps.....strava, komoot, etc, (maybe even OS Maps App). More of a back-end integration. Strava promotes it to all their users as a premium feature at x£££ additional cost p/month. Best of luck with it!

@david_ainger Haha, it's a small world :D And that's all genuinely helpful, thanks :) I'll definitely pass on the feedback, I think the point about activity apps makes a lot of sense... and if we ever need an app breaker, we'll let you know haha! Cheers!

This looks awesome! Love the idea of a alert feature. I feel like this could be very useful if you have kids!
Matt Rumbelow
@amanda_dykstra Thanks, Amanda! We have had a good response from parents with kids so far. Kids seem to appreciate the compromise of "sometimes being on" rather than being tracked 24/7 :)

Awesome to finally see Callie launch on PH! 👏
