The thing I actually spent time on is the mic path — noise suppression, a gate that doesn’t chew the first letter off every word, EQ, studio mode if your mic is already good. 1:1 calls go peer to peer and stay free. Group calls are free too. What’s paid is the stuff that burns my relay: camera in a group call, screen share with audio, bigger uploads. You can self-host if you want the box on your side. Not E2E. Not a Discord reskin under the hood. Not looking for 50 servers. If your friends are never leaving Discord, this won’t change that.
