BuoyBro is a simple little widget that provides you with a live report of the current conditions at your local surf break. Drawing from the live data recorded by hundreds of ocean buoys, and tying in waves, wind, and tide, this app lets you keep your eyes on your local spot at all times - whether you're at home, in the office, or on the road. No more messy websites and cross-references surf apps - just a quick look at BuoyBro and you know exactly when to go.
This app was inspired by constantly trying to cobble together the current conditions at my local surf break (a 30 minute drive) through a variety of websites, forecasts, ocean data, etc.
I wanted an easy, clean, simple, and quick way to keep track of my local at all times - so I built a widget that would combine key data points from across the available information on the internet (waves, wind, tide) and display them in a nice clean way, which allowed me to know exactly what was happening at my local break at any given time.
A quick swipe over to the widget, and you know whether to head out for a surf or not.
There are a thousand and one surf forecasting apps - and they are often great for letting you know about future swells. On the day-of, however, BuoyBro is your go to for double-checking the conditions before heading out.
