A shared pregnancy diary for couples. One photo a day becomes the story of your pregnancy, with NHS week-by-week guidance, planning tools and support for you both.

I built Bump Diary because pregnancy is a shared experience, but most apps treat it like a solo one.
When you’re expecting, you get a flood of information—fruit comparisons, NHS links, appointment schedules, kick counts. It’s overwhelming, and it’s almost always designed for one person to manage in isolation. The partner is either an afterthought or a passive viewer. The result is that the mental load stays with one person, and the other feels like a spectator in the most important project of their life.
I wanted to build something that fixes that. Not another tracker. A shared diary.
Bump Diary is built around one simple idea: one photo a day becomes the story of your pregnancy. You and your partner both add moments to the same timeline. You react, comment, and watch the weeks unfold together. At the end, those daily photos become a time-lapse “bump movie”—a gentle, personal record of the journey you built as a couple.
But it’s not just about photos. I built it to solve the real friction of pregnancy:
Partners get a real role. They receive NHS-based tips for their stage, an extra card in the daily story, and push notifications for moments, reactions, and name matches. They’re not side characters.
The information is calm and credible. Week-by-week NHS guidance is built in, with links to the source. The “Ask Bump” feature answers questions from a private, self-hosted model—free, and nothing is stored. Warning signs surface your hospital’s triage number or 999 before anything else.
It handles the hard parts with care. If the pregnancy ends, the diary pauses for both of you. Every reminder and badge stops, and a calm screen shows NHS and charity support. You can keep your photos privately or delete them. That’s not a feature most apps think about, but it matters.
Your data stays yours. No ads. No tracking. Private check-ins unless you choose to share. A full JSON export whenever you want it.
I’m a solo maker, and I built this because I watched how impersonal and one-sided pregnancy apps can feel. Bump Diary is my attempt to make the technology match the reality: pregnancy is a team effort, and the record of it should be too.
It’s live on iOS now. If you’re expecting, or know someone who is, I’d love for you to try it and tell me what you think.
