How does the 60-second refresh handle weekends or holidays when local Indian bullion markets are technically closed but global spot prices are still moving?
@selahattinkwt9 Good catch — there are two different clocks here. The global spot market (XAU/XAG) updates every 60 seconds while it's open, but it also closes over the weekend (roughly Friday 5:00 PM ET through Sunday evening ET). During that period, the last available spot price is shown until trading resumes. Separately, IBJA publishes its India benchmark only on trading days, so on weekends and market holidays we retain the last published benchmark rather than displaying estimated or synthetic values.
How does the 60-second update actually work on the back end, are you pulling directly from IBJA feeds or running your own calibration layer on top of commodity APIs?
@lapak93209 Thanks for the question! We don't consume IBJA feeds directly. BullionLive uses a proprietary aggregation and calibration layer that combines multiple trusted market data sources with our own normalization, validation, and pricing logic. This allows us to publish consistent district- and city-level gold and silver prices with 60-second updates while maintaining reliability and low latency. We don't publicly disclose the exact data pipeline, but we're happy to discuss API capabilities and SLAs if you're evaluating it for integration.
Saw the price refresh in under a minute on my phone, and the IBJA calibration gave me confidence the number actually matches what my local jeweller quoted. The district filter is a nice touch for anyone buying across cities.
@meryemzbilrpm0 Really glad that landed well — thank you! The district-level piece was the whole reason we built this instead of just showing one national number; the fact that it actually matched your local jeweller's quote is exactly the validation we're chasing. Appreciate you calling it out. 🙏
Finally a gold tracker that actually matches what my local jeweler quotes, and the IBJA calibration gives me real peace of mind.
@adnanyankonhqa Thank you — that's genuinely the best kind of feedback we can get, since "matches what my jeweller quoted" is the whole bar we're trying to clear. Appreciate you taking the time to say so. 🙏
