I built BuildMyResume because I was frustrated with the existing tools — almost all of them required sign-ups, tracked users, or locked essential features like PDF export behind paywalls. I wanted something fast, secure, and truly privacy-first.
With BuildMyResume, your data never leaves your device unless you choose to publish it (and even then, it’s fully encrypted). You can build, preview, edit, and export your resume without ever creating an account. It’s 100% free and open source under the MIT license, so anyone can use, improve, and share it.
I’d love to hear your feedback, suggestions, or bug reports so we can make this tool even better for everyone. 💙
Tried this out today and I’m genuinely impressed 👏
The whole “no login, no tracking” thing feels so refreshing compared to most resume builders. The live preview is super fast, the templates look clean and the fact that I can even edit the formatting directly in the preview is a game-changer.
The publishing feature with encrypted links is brilliant — I can update my resume later from any device without signing up. Oh, and it’s open source too, which just builds more trust.
Honestly, this feels like a tool made for users, not for collecting their data. Great work! 🙌
@rashidrashiiii Thank you so much for trying it out and for the kind words 🙏
I really wanted to build something that respects privacy, keeps things simple, and still feels professional to use — so it means a lot to hear this feedback.
The goal was always to make a tool for users, not for data collection, and I’m glad that came through. Your encouragement truly motivates me to keep improving it.

This is truely awesome! Love that it's open-source and privacy-first — so refreshing to see a resume builder that doesn't feel like it's trying to sell my data, right? That’s a huge plus for me. How customizable are the templates for different career fields?

@cruise_chen Thanks a lot! 🙏 I really wanted to create something people could use without worrying about their data, and open-sourcing it felt like the most transparent way to do that.
