Founders keep making the same expensive mistakes with their founder stories. I'm tired of seeing good products fail because their story didn't connect. This guide is my way of solving that problem at scale.
Hi Product Hunters,
This is my first attempt at a "guide" so I'm offering it to P-Hunters for free in hopes that you all are the right audience. All I ask is that you tell me whether it's useful (or not) and leave a nice review if you feel nice about it.
While I have no idea if this is something that will turn out to be useful or not, I can say for sure that when I work with a founder using this framework, it works.
I just don't know if it's something that can be translated into a guide.
A Lil Background ↙️
I'm a seasoned entrepreneur (2 exits, 2 flame-outs, 1, presidential campaign, and multiple $1b+ C,S,E level jobs and counting), but I have also worked in branding, marketing, and communications for two decades. For the last few years, I've been advising founders as they approach their growth year and this is one place I find them struggling the most.
If you don't get this right, it's harder to raise money. It's harder to communicate your value prop. It's harder to literally stand in an elevator and tell someone what you do.
🥹 Humble founders aren't comfortable talking about themselves.
💪 Comfortable founders struggle to make their stories apply to their customers and investors.
This guide solves both problems at once.
Your founder story isn't just nice to have - it's the foundation everything else builds upon. It's the difference between:
Being a commodity vs. being a category leader
Competing on price vs. commanding premium rates
Chasing customers vs. attracting loyal fans
Struggling for press vs. having media seek you out
Fighting for partnerships vs. having partners pursue you

This is free for you all, for the next week. I don't have a mailing list or really anything else to sell but I am offering collaboration meetings if you want to work through your story with me for 45 minutes (as an add-on).
I've been struggling to write my founder story for over two years, trying countless branding frameworks that just didn't work. This easy-to-read template and guide is the most refreshing, practical, logical, and no-BS resource I’ve found. It cuts through the fluff and gives you clear, actionable prompts. I love the focus on helping founders sell the story to investors. I highly recommend the accompanying branding call too, Paul is an expert in fundraising, pitching, and branding so you'll get the real talk and insights nobody else will tell you.
