Student housing is fragmented, and that fragmentation is the actual problem. One site lists rooms. Another matches flatmates. The real leads sit in a Facebook group. Payments happen by bank transfer, deposits happen on trust. Nobody holds the whole thing end to end, so the gaps get filled by fake listings and deposits sent for rooms that were never there.
The people who can least afford that are students. Shallow pockets, new country, no local network, and a move-in date they can't push.
BudnBed puts one structure around all of it. Students host students. Both sides ID verified, listings are video only so you see the actual room, payment is held until 48 hours after move-in, 0% for hosts and 8% of the first month for guests.
Hosts are listing now. Guests can book from August 15.
If you've ever looked for a room in a city you'd never set foot in, tell me what broke. That's what I'm building against.
