Hey Product Hunt! I'm Braden, the person building Buddy. Right now, VXBE is me.
I come from bartending and hospitality. So much of that work is remembering the little things, noticing what someone needs, and actually following through. I wanted Buddy to feel like that.
I've been building with AI for about two years, and on Buddy for the last three months. I wanted an assistant I could text like a friend. One who remembers the context, does the work across my apps, files, and the web instead of telling me how, and helps me follow through without giving me another system to maintain.
I use Buddy every day to get unstuck throughout my day and his reminders to help me keep up with housework. Sometimes I need something made, like a visual explainer, or a story book for bedtime. Sometimes I just need help getting started. He handles the practical stuff too, like email, calendar, research, documents, and images. He sends me daily news updates. He writes custom bedtime stories and publishes them as little websites. When my parents needed a place to stay, he researched hotels and found a few nearby with good reviews.
My mom and my best friend in Oklahoma were his first users. Neither had really used AI beyond search. Building something that's useful to them has mattered a lot to me.
