Bubble Hoop brings the classic handheld water ring-toss toy to phones as a playful browser game. Tap the pumps to create bubbles and currents, or tilt your device to shift the water and steer the rings. Realistic sloshing, collisions and lingering pressure make each attempt challenging but fair. Baby-pink retro styling, an aquarium backdrop, light funky music, pump sound effects and a final tap-count score recreate the nostalgic toy experience on iOS and Android.
What became possible in your product with Astra that was not practical before?

Astra made it practical to build and refine the entire game through conversation. From mobile physics, tilt controls and audio to nostalgic visuals, testing and public deployment. I could describe how the toy should feel, test each iteration, and immediately adjust subtle details like water momentum, fair difficulty and ring behaviour without coordinating separate design, development and hosting workflows.

I built Bubble Hoop because I wanted to recreate the simple handheld water-ring toy many of us played with as kids. The challenge was making it feel nostalgic while still working naturally on modern phones.
The game uses taps, water pressure, ring collisions and phone tilt to create movement. I kept refining the physics so it feels difficult but fair: a correctly aligned ring lands, while the currents and momentum make that alignment hard to achieve. I also added a retro baby-pink design, aquarium background, light music, pump sounds and a final tap score.
I’d love to hear your best score and what parts of the experience could feel even more authentic!
