I wanted to introduce you guys to the sunglasses line I launched a little over a year ago, Brightside Eyewear. We offer designer-quality sunglasses without that ridiculous $150-400 price tag that we've unfortunately had to come to expect with high-end sunnies. There's been a fair amount of brands emerging over the last few years in an effort to disrupt the eyewear industry vastly dominated by Luxottica (now owned by Essilor), which is a story that many of you have probably heard by now. While it's great that there are a lot more options now available to consumers, I saw that there was still a void in the market.
There are a bunch of lower-end sunglass brands out there that may very well be just what certain people are looking for. They get lost, they get broken, they wind up at the bottom of the ocean... so some people have given up and decided to sacrifice quality for a more affordable option - anything from the $5 gas station junkers to the frames more in the $40-60 range. The brands in the latter category (I won't name names) often preach of quality materials, but they simply don't compare to the high-end options. Polycarbonate, injection mold, etc. just cannot stack up to a handcrafted acetate frame. Furthermore, the vast majority of brands use plastic lenses, which feel cheap and fall inferior to the clarity, scratch-resistance, and sturdiness that glass lenses offer. Granted, there are some non-Luxottica brands out there that do utilize the higher-end materials, but their prices are either still way too high, their craftsmanship sub-par, or their frames are, well, really gaudy.
I set out to create a line of sunglasses for people who were fed up paying an outrageous amount for luxury frames, but yet refused to make any sacrifices in quality for a more affordable pair. Our frames are inspired by classic designs and colorways, and are handmade with premium acetate, stainless steel, quality hardware, and mineral glass lenses. Everything is meticulously designed and inspected at our home base in Los Angeles to make sure they truly feel good on your face. Our first line is entirely unisex, and we are eagerly planning our next line offering new styles and colorways, and eventually offering RX. Plain and simple, these are the best sunglasses for the best price that you will find - guaranteed. They are every bit as good as the big name designer brands, and a whole lot better than those cheaper options that claim to be high-end but yet still leave so much to be desired.
