A free OSINT and password-security awareness game. Investigate fictional targets, learn how attackers actually guess passwords, and bring the lessons to your team, classroom, or IT security training.
I'm excited to share Breach Noir, a detective-style cybersecurity game where you solve cases by figuring out realistic passwords using OSINT, social engineering, and logical deduction.
The idea came from a simple observation: most password security training is either too theoretical or too boring. I wanted to create something people would actually enjoy playing while learning how attackers think.
In each case, you'll investigate a fictional target using clues from social media, personal interests, habits, and public information. Just like in real life, the strongest passwords aren't always the hardest to guess—people often leave traces everywhere.
✨ What you'll find:
🕵️ Detective-style investigations 🔍 Realistic OSINT-inspired clues 🔐 Password cracking through deduction (not brute force) 🏆 Daily challenges, achievements, and leaderboards 🎮 A growing collection of handcrafted cases with different difficulty levels
Breach Noir is still evolving, and I'd genuinely love your feedback. Which features would make the experience more engaging? Are there investigation mechanics or game modes you'd like to see?
Thanks for checking it out, and I hope you enjoy solving your first case!
