Read or listen to one engaging 10-minute Byte each day. History, science, philosophy and more! Plus, unbiased AI news summaries with side-by-side comparisons of how different outlets frame the same event. My attempt towards healthier media habits :)

Hey everyone,
Welcome to the launch of my app: BrainBytes AI. I built this product to solve an issue that I've dubbed the 'Information Crisis': the abundance of information out there in legacy formats such as books and newspapers, but the increasing shift towards addictive, short-form content such as TikTok.
We spend an average of 2.5 hours each day scrolling on social media – a phenomenon that has led to terms like doomscrolling and brainrot. Similarly, even though there are hundreds of news sources out there, the majority of Gen Z get their news from social media.
So, I built BrainBytes AI: an attempt to bridge the two worlds. It does only two things:
DAILY BYTES: STORY-DRIVEN LEARNING 🧠
Every morning, read or listen to a new AI-powered 'Byte': a 10-minute piece of narrative-driven non-fiction. Bytes span history, philosophy, physics, politics, economics, biographies, sociology and more.
They aim to teach you something useful in an engaging, story-like way in just 10 minutes a day. Examples of Bytes include: 'The Rise, Reign and Ruin of Julius Caesar' , 'Beyond the Event Horizon: The Story of Black Holes' , or 'From Pharaohs to Paychecks: The Story of Social Class'.
Bytes are a simple way to build a learning habit that fits into modern schedules. Read or listen on your commute, at the gym, or on the toilet.
SMART NEWS: TOWARDS CLARITY AND REDUCED MEDIA BIAS 📰
A clean, minimalist design that consists of just 5 global sources and headlines only. Per headline, you have 3 options:
AI Brief button (distillation of the facts in the article to 3 dot-points)
Compare Button (shows how different sources frame the same event)
Go to Article button (direct link to the original article)
This is my attempt at creating a news interface that people can consistently read every morning and keep up to date. It aims to reduce echochambers, algorithmic manipulation, single-source bias, and media fatigue.
BrainBytes is my passion project – it started as a terminal script that would print out each day's headlines just for myself. It then evolved into an ugly website, then a decent website, then an ugly app, and now a decent app. Hopefully you find it useful!
It's completely free btw. If it becomes big enough I'd like to see if I can scale it up to a proper business but for now it's just a passion project I want to share with everyone cause I think it's genuinely useful.
