Our 1.0 Version is Here! We're excited to announce that our first release version is now available! You can install it through Apple AppStore! We'd love to hear your feedback, ideas, criticism, and especially bug reports (there are definitely some bugs since this is a first version). What's working and ready to test: - Book importing (EPUB, FB2, PDF) - Book search with metadata addition to your library - Bookshelf creation and book organization - Reader with customizable themes, fonts, and page layout options - Quotes and Notes saving - Book list export Feel free to use and share your feedback!

Congrats on launching v1.0! The app looks clean. I get the privacy/local-first angle. Beyond that, how does Bookov differ from existing readers/library managers? From the page I read “find & add” (metadata) + “import to read,” so the core USP seems to be ownership + open export?

Kirill Oleinichenko

@sidraarifali hi Sidra! Thank you for your support! And thank you for your question!

Yes, you are right - the main focus is ownership. I have about 1,500 e-books in my library, and I'm frustrated by the fact that they're all locked in the app I chose 15 years ago. Thank God that the company still exists. But if she goes broke or blocks me, I'll lose the library. I want to create a platform where a personal library (metadata, files, notes, citations, collections) belongs to a person. And where a person can use it the way he wants it. Export, import, process manually or using AI, synchronize with personal knowledge bases. We are at the very beginning of the journey, but this is the vision.

Sidra Arif

@kirillgreen Thanks for the explanation. I'd honestly never thought about what happens if my current collection disappears. Bookov is tackling a problem most of us won’t notice until it’s too late, and that vision really resonates. I’m excited to give it a try!

Kirill Oleinichenko

@sidraarifali feel free to give us your honest feedback!
