Unlike traditional recruitment models that focus primarily on placements, Bluehawks begins with the broader question: what path will genuinely serve the student’s future? Every recommendation is shaped by a holistic evaluation of academic background, career aspirations, financial realities, risk tolerance, and evolving global opportunities. Admissions are treated as one step within a larger roadmap rather than the end goal.

A large part of the study abroad consulting business was never really about the student. It was about the enrollment. Agents earning 15-30% commission from universities had one real client: the institution paying them. The student was the product moving through the pipeline.
UK universities spent £500 million on agent commissions in 2023. That is not a service industry. That is a distribution network.
And it worked for one reason only: information asymmetry.
Students and families in smaller Indian cities did not have access to accurate data on universities, visa rejection rates, post-study work realities, or true cost of living. The agent sat between the student and that information and charged for the crossing.
AI has ended that.
A student today can get country comparisons, shortlists, financial breakdowns, and visa process clarity without speaking to anyone. The crossing is free now. The gatekeeper has no gate.
So I am not surprised that commission-driven consultancies are struggling to articulate their value right now.
What I do know is this. The consultants who will survive are the ones who were never in the information business. They were in something harder to scale and impossible to automate.
Telling a student the truth about their profile even when the honest answer costs you the conversion.
That kind of counsel does not get replaced by AI.
