Bloom turns any video into a live wallpaper that plays behind your desktop icons, on macOS and Windows. Existing wallpaper apps like Wallpaper Engine idle at 450-900MB because they bundle their own browser. Bloom uses the OS's native webview and video decoder instead — measures ~39MB on my M1 Air. It's my first app ever, built solo, free and open source (GPL-3.0). Windows support just shipped and is less tested, so I'm especially looking for feedback there.
Hey Product Hunt 👋 This is my first app — built it solo this summer while learning Rust and Tauri. The RAM number in the description is only verified on my own M1 Air so far; if you try it on different hardware, especially Windows (which just shipped), I'd genuinely love to know what you see, good or bad. Reach me at bloomappsupportapp@gmail.com or on GitHub issues for anything broken. Thanks for taking a look!
