We (two co-founders) started Bloom purely as a data project for ourselves while expecting a baby. We wanted to explore international names and track real-world trend, but quickly realized that this could be useful for other parents too. The easiest way to make it accessible to everyone was through a mobile app. We built it from the ground up, investing in data engineering: sourcing official statistics, enriching them with social media insights, and applying AI tagging to create smart filters.
