Blitzy

ChatBot matching users by location and needs

Hi Product Hunters! I was lurking for a while in this fantastic site and now I finally took the plunge to present a side project I made with some partners. We created a quite detailed web page describing the project but it's more oriented toward the generic user, here I'd like to make a description especially for PH users. See comment below

As many could already guess from the caption, Blitzy is a platform that matches its users basing on where they are located and on what they need or offer. I guess the question many could ask is: why another platform like this if there are already others? Lets' see some peculiar Blitzy features: - Blitzy is a chatbot (at moment hosted in Telegram, more messaging platform to come). The conversational interface is proven to be easier to adopt than native apps with proprietary GUIs, it's perfect for smartphones, already known by anyone and allows users to share any kind of content. - No need to go through the installation process, messaging apps like Telegram are very popular and already installed on users devices. In this case it takes just few seconds to start Blitzy for the first time. - No fear that Blitzy can peep data from your phone or its sensors, it's safely running in a well known context. - You can update your position in 3 ways: writing an address as text, tapping a point on map or using your gps. Automatic, continuous position update through reading GPS is not mandatory, you can decide when to do it. A big relief for the battery and your privacy. - Other users cannot see you, it's Blitzy that does the match, more privacy details in the web page. - Matching is based on location, distance and categories of interests. - You can create your own platform using custom categories. If you have a large usergroup and you want a platform that matches instant messages based on user location you can build it easily on top of Blitzy, separated from standard users. Use cases could be delivery services, traffic info or sports that involve moving (cycling, fishing, sailing...) and many others. - The platform backend is built using microservices and cloud computing. While minimal resources are allocated for this early version, this gives a great potential to scale. Matching algorithm is very fast, thanks to partitioning and indexing. Allright, I guess I wrote already too much, if you want to know more visit the web page and it would be great if you try the app and let us know what do you think. Keep in mind it's an early stage product but with development in full swing, you might contribute to shape a great product. And of course we would love to answer any question and start a conversation. We are basing on genuine feedbacks, we are not using any social marketing to artificially inflate visibility. A Big thank you ;)

A fresh upgrade: Blitzy now supports the new cool "live location" feature introduced recently in Telegram 4.4 https://telegram.org/blog/live-l... How do Blitzy users benefit from this? When the user is in the blitzy menu "Update my location" now he can choose the new Telegram "Share my live location for..." option and have his location automatically updated for the time specified (btw, it's possible to cancel anytime). The result is that the user can move with the phone in his pocket and rest assured he will receive relevant notifications when entering the right area. He doesn't need to manually update the location to check for new notifications as in previous versions. This is ideal for extremely mobile users. Use cases could be: delivery services, taxi, car share, trafic alerts and much more...
