Hey everyone, I’m the maker of blare.
I built it because I wanted production errors in Slack without setting up another tool. Sentry felt like too much for that, and the usual webhook snippet works until a bad deploy fires the same error a few hundred times and the whole team mutes the channel.
So blare does one thing: send your Python or Node.js errors to Slack, Discord or Teams. pip install blare, call blare.init(), set your webhook URL in an env var. Your existing logger.error calls and crashes start showing up as alerts.
The part I spent most of my time on is grouping. If the same error happens 800 times, you get one message with a count instead of 800 messages.
No server, no database, no dashboard. It also strips out tokens and keys before anything gets posted, and if Slack is down it just drops the alert instead of slowing your app.
It’s open source (Apache-2.0). Python and Node are out now, Go is next.
Would really like to hear what you think, and what you’d want it to support next.
