I’m Jingyu, the solo maker of Blanc.
I built it after realizing that the exhausting part of cleaning a camera roll isn’t finding junk — it’s making the same decisions again. Every photo cleaner I tried eventually brought me back to the same screenshots, videos, and forgotten months. The work never seemed to accumulate.
Blanc is built around one promise: once you decide on a photo, it never appears again. Keep it or delete it — the decision sticks. Since version 1.8, that memory follows you to a new iPhone through iCloud.
The experience is deliberately simple: swipe left to keep, right to delete. You can focus on screenshots, videos, large files, or one month at a time. Nothing is deleted immediately: every choice goes through a review screen and then Apple’s Recently Deleted album, so you remain in control.
Everything runs on your device. There’s no account, no photo upload, and no AI trying to decide which memories matter to you.
Blanc also doesn’t pretend to replace every photo tool. It doesn’t automatically detect duplicates or blurry shots — iOS already has a free Duplicates album. I wanted to solve a different problem: helping a human decision become permanent, so every five-minute cleanup session actually moves the library forward.
One honest note: on the App Store, it’s listed as Blanc Photo Cleaner. Searching for “Blanc” alone won’t find it — apparently, that’s a very crowded word.
If you try it, the feedback I’d value most is where you stopped. Not which feature you want next, but the exact moment you put the phone down. That’s the moment I want to make better.
