I have been an early user of Bitclout and it feels like the early days of Twitter but with a new dimension where all users capture the value instead of a centralized company. there is a fair amount of polemic about it because it has pre-indexed the top 15 000 top Twitter influencer (disclosure i am one of them) without their "permission" but anyone can claim their profile too It will be a fascinating experiment to watch side note: bitclout is backed by some of the largest VCs (sequoia, a16z and more)

Everyone, Do NOT believe everything you read. Just because you see a list of "backers" do not trust they actually support something they personally have not publicly announced. Trustworthy VCs will always disclose who they back. and congrats, @ourielohayon FWIW. cheers.

What's currently going on with the site? Had problems since early morning (UK time) 8th April trying to buy bitclout even though my bitcoin wallet has enough then there were reports during day about problems Now come back to site again 3am UK 9th April and nothing seems to have been posted or showing since maybe 2am UK time? Really think there should be a link on the HELP menu to a FAQ for new users as keep seeing the same questions over and over again Also maybe after this: a STATUS site? so you can notify users what may be going on as I'm in the dark and just searching around for some info - thus how I ended up posting here

Although I was hesitant at first, I'm impressed by initial investment in the platform. Some of the smartest people I know are all in on BitClout. From what I can tell, there are three modalities for profiting and/or creating value on the platform: 1. Makers - Build a decentralized offering on BitClout. 2. Investment - Invest in people before their Creator Coin increases in value. 3. Content Creation - Attract investment by creating content that adds value to BitClout as a social network. Prime example: Craig Clemens What do you all think?

The core concept seems really interesting, but publicly placing a price/value on each user and then encouraging everyone to continually game out each other's worth is pretty much the perfect distillation of everything I hate about modern social media.
