I'm Edward, a solo Android developer from Ireland. I built BillDay because I kept getting caught out by bills, not because I couldn't afford them, but because they'd land on random dates across different providers and I'd miss the odd one.
Every bill tracker I tried wanted a bank login, a monthly subscription, or an account I'd never use again. So I built what I actually wanted: something simple that just tells me what's due and when but provides me the insights and reminders on renewals and savings possibilities.
A few things I'm particularly proud of:
- The Compare and Save feature gives you country-specific provider comparisons (real local companies, not generic templates) so you can see if you're overpaying at renewal time
- It runs in multiple languages with localised content for 10+ countries, currently all maintained by one person
- The privacy model is extreme on purpose: SQLite on-device, no server, no analytics beyond what AdMob requires. I wanted an app I'd trust with my own bill data
