BigEditor is a tireless, fatigue-free logic check for novelists. We have built an AI-powered "unit-testing suite" for narrative structure. It applies encoded principles of storycraft to structurally audit full-length manuscripts (200,000+ words). BigEditor acts as your narrative engineer, mapping character arcs, causal chains, and pacing, allowing you to automatically find plot holes and logical fractures. Our launch is for a limited concierge private beta.

Hi Product Hunt! I’m JimCricket, the creator of BigEditor.
This project was born out of pure frustration. I had a 90,000-word manuscript and just wanted a simple proofreading to ensure it was presentable for self-publishing. Then I hit a wall: a $1,200 quote just for a basic cleanup.
I spent months on a quest for honest, objective feedback. I tried everything—Critique Circle, Royal Road forums, Discord groups—but I kept hitting the same two problems: the feedback was almost entirely subjective, and most reviewers never made it past the first few paragraphs. It was impossible to get a structural "health check" on a full-length book.
When I turned to AI, I found that most tools weren't built for the 'long haul.' They choked on manuscripts over 100,000 words, and the analytics they provided were surface-level at best.
I needed a 'unit-testing suite' for narrative structure—something that could audit a 200,000-word story with the same precision a developer audits code. So, I built a custom engine to do exactly that. BigEditor acts as your narrative engineer, mapping character arcs and causal chains to find the logical fractures that humans (and basic AI) miss.
We are currently in a limited concierge private beta. I’d love to hear from the writers here: What’s the most frustrating piece of 'subjective' feedback you’ve ever received?
Looking forward to the discussion!
