Hello Product Hunt 👋🏾 I'm Nithin Thomas, Designer and Founder of Beyond Basic
The idea for Beyond Basic came from my habit of taking screenshots whenever I see UI or design work that inspires me. Over time, I started wondering: with all the possibilities of AI, why not use it to decode best practices from these screenshots and let AI suggests how to design beyond basic screens?
I wouldn’t call this project “100% vibe-coded” instead, it was built with AI as a coding partner, alongside an engineer in the loop to ensure structure, quality, and scalability.
At the moment, Beyond Basic doesn’t tell you how to design beyond. Instead, it decodes patterns and best practices for specific screen types. This can be especially helpful for people building with AI who don’t come from a design background. It helps them understand common UI patterns, see how big tech designs these screens, and reuse context-heavy prompts from Beyond Basic in tools like Figma Make or Lovable to generate more meaningful screens.
