I'm Daniel, and I've been building WordPress sites for over 12 years, working on hundreds of projects with clients of all sizes. I previously built Social Image Generator, which was eventually acquired by Automattic.
Over the years, I've built the same filtered content displays over and over: recipe grids with cuisine filters, portfolio galleries with category sorting, directory listings with search, event listings, etc etc.
Every time, I'd either:
- Code it custom (time-consuming, hard to maintain)
- Use existing plugins (clunky UX, not built for the block editor, expensive)
It felt repetitive and inefficient, so I built Better Loop to solve my own problem.
Better Loop is designed from the ground up for the block editor, and my goal was to make it feel fully native, as if it were part of WordPress core. It also adds some really nice extra features like a Load More button, instant search, and infinite scroll.
The live demo on the product site shows a recipe grid. That entire setup (search, filters, styling, everything) takes only a few minutes to build, with immediate visual feedback and full creative freedom. That's the experience I wanted to create.
If you're a freelancer or agency using the block editor, Better Loop can save you tons of time (and money!). It's built using modern WP dev approaches such as the Interactivity API, and can be easily customized with just PHP. You can display all types of content (posts, pages, CPTs) and filter by taxonomies, as well as meta fields in the near future.
