Belegdog finds the invoice for every bank transaction. One click pulls receipts from Gmail, Stripe and AWS, matches them to your transactions, and gets everything ready for your accountant. Local-first: no cloud, no account, your data stays on your Mac
Hey Product Hunt 👋
Every month and every quarter I had the same stressful job: make sure our tax accountant gets an invoice for every single line on our bank statement. Sounds small. It really wasn't.
Getting those invoices and reconciling them was the painful part, especially Stripe. One payout that lands in your bank is actually dozens of things underneath: multiple customer invoices, Stripe fees, currency conversions. So I'd download reports and match columns and amounts by hand, trying to figure out which invoice belonged to which number. It ate hours.
And the worst part: even after all that, weeks later the accountant would email back saying a few invoices are still missing. Back into the portals I'd go.
I basically wanted a to-do list for this: a clear view of which invoices I have and which are still missing, but with the collecting done for me automatically. So I built Belegdog.
You import your bank statement and Belegdog finds each matching invoice for you. It searches your Gmail by date and invoice number, pulls a Stripe payout apart into its individual charges and fees, fetches AWS, and more. You get a live overview of what is complete and what is still missing, so you always know exactly where you stand.
Then the handoff: export the whole period as one clean ZIP, every invoice properly named by date, amount and vendor, organized, and tied to its transaction. No cryptic filenames, no "which payment is this?" for your accountant.
And you never have to give your accountant logins or pay for extra seats. No granting access to the billing section of every SaaS you use, no user fees just so someone can download invoices. You just send the folder.
The other thing I cared about: no servers and no account. Other tools in this space are cloud apps that want your logins on their servers. Belegdog runs entirely on your Mac. You add your own Stripe token, connect your own Gmail, and credentials stay in the macOS Keychain. And because it is a chore you do every month, I wanted it to actually feel good to use, so I sweated the design.
It is on the Mac App Store (macOS 12+), 5.99 EUR/mo or 49.99 EUR/yr, first month free.
Would love your feedback. Which invoice source should I add next? Ask me anything 🐕
