Write in Markdown and watch the page take shape. Beauty formats headings, tables, math, and diagrams as you type. Add blocks with /, tune the typography, and share a link to write together. On Mac, iPhone, iPad, and web. The editor is free, with no account needed. Notes stay local; Mac notes are Markdown files. Optional Maximus adds iCloud sync across Apple devices. The browser has a separate local library.

Hi Product Hunt! I’m Beauty’s maker.
The world doesn't need another Markdown editor. I still made one.
Beauty is a free, powerful, on-device greco-roman Markdown editor that is purposefully human-centric without being anti-AI.
Available for Mac, iPhone, iPad and Web.
I was frustrated with writing apps, and like most I used Apple Notes. After 2+ years immersed in Cursor, Codex and CC, I wished some interactions existed in a text editor.
You can use / to add styles, : to add emojis, shortcuts like < 3 for a heart, - > for an arrow, and so on. It honestly feels great.
Is it radically different than other editors? I don't think so. But I think it's well executed across every dimension.
Even though I’m not anti-AI, the debate is relevant. Beauty is 100% local. No server, no logins, no analytics. Sharing features (like live editing) use P2P and WebRTC with E2E cryptography. The limitation here is that you can only share a file while having it open yourself.
Great care was taken to performance and portability. The Mac binary is ~50mb, no Electron. While using, you will notice that rendering, GPU, RAM were heavily optimized.
The app is free, but there’s an optional subscription for iCloud sync and some future upgrades. If you lacked a great text editor in your life, give it a try.
