Any thoughts or experience with an "emergency" booking. For example I need a DJ in the next few hours? Seems that comes up often and you could likely charge a huge premium.

@Percival Sean, that has poppe up before. We are doing that manually now as we have staff in every key location to help in urgent requests.
We are doing things that don't scale at the moment to learn all there is to learn about every use case.
What can you share about total bookings let's say YTD and last. How much revenue are you making as well?

@Percival due to the space being very active at the moment we are not going to share the numbers in public - but we can say that the company has reached profitability just recently. I hope you understand.
How much does the average gig cost to book and is there a savings / benefit to booking a DJ from you?

@utekkare Pranay, thanks for your question. As opposed to booking a traditional band for well over $1000, you'll get 5 DJs for the same price that are professional and can deliver a wide variety of musical genres.
And, if you are a professional promoter who has previously worked with booking agencies - you'll save up to 20% in booking fees when you book through Beatsy.
In sumamry: average gig costs around $200 + 9% booking fee on top of it.
(yes, we do not charge anything from the artist as we believe they should get their gig fees in full for the hard work they do)
Super cool idea and something you could expand on someday with more than just DJs and Bands. I have to say that out of all the other applicants, this one caught my attention the most. Good luck guys.

@everette Oh one more thing: if you are a DJ or know someone (rapper, DJ, group): let them know that we have 2 big bangers coming up soon and they should sign up before the end of September.
They can signup here: https://beatsy.co/artists/signup
What's the competitive landscape like for something like this?
Report
Maker
@Percival The competitive landscape has actually popped up recently. We were the first among Gigit (they launched earlier as though, with funding). Then Muzeek from Australia, they are doing a good job in the traditional venue->artist sector. Then there is Sidestage (hi Daniel, thanks for scouting us out earlier this week), who recently launched in Berlin, London, NYC.
Where as they all focus on providing every band, dj or group for everyone -we focus on offering the lower cost/lower maintenance artists that are DJs or EDM groups. So basically we are the first booking service that targets the urban music sector (EDM/Hip Hop)
Do you offer DJs any CRM and/or billing tools in addition to sending them clients?
Report
Maker
@Percival we've been building features that have been requested by our users - and have some CRM-like features already developed and the product roadmap full of stuff that helps them not only keep organized, but to attract more bookings through the platform.
The aim is to be the de-facto platform for artists to get gigs.
