Hey everyone π We built BeatCrate after years of dealing with the same frustrating problem many DJs face β amazing music collections, but terrible tools for managing them. Broken metadata, missing artwork, wrong BPM values, duplicate tracks, and fake quality files were slowing down workflow. We wanted to create one modern app that makes music library management fast, simple, and reliable.
One thing we kept hearing from DJs was: βI spend more time organizing music than actually playing it.β That stuck with us. BeatCrate was built to reduce that wasted time through bulk metadata editing, BPM detection, artwork search, and smarter organization tools so users can focus more on discovering music and preparing sets.
As collectors ourselves, we know how personal a music library can be. Every folder, playlist, and track tells a story. Thatβs why we designed BeatCrate not just as a utility tool, but as something that respects and enhances your collection instead of making it harder to manage.
We chose to build BeatCrate natively for macOS because performance mattered to us from day one. DJs often work with massive collections containing thousands of tracks, and we wanted the experience to feel smooth, fast, and dependable even with large libraries.
Before BeatCrate, many users had to combine multiple apps just to handle tagging, BPM detection, artwork updates, and organization. We wanted to simplify that entire workflow into one focused product built specifically for music collectors and DJs.
Weβve spent a lot of time thinking about the small details that make workflows smoother β fast scanning, clean interface design, bulk actions, and reducing repetitive tasks. BeatCrate is the result of many iterations around saving users time every single day.
